Lake George, New York

Upstate New York usually resembles the planet Hoth in mid-January, but as of late, it is unseasonably warm and almost all the snow and ice that is the norm for an Adirondack winter is gone.  With Kai-Ling’s parents and the kids in tow, we spent a quick weekend at Lake George where the evening sunset was reminiscent of some of my summer kayak camping trips.

Truth be told, the photo above was from the only four hours that it wasn’t raining or the fog and low clouds obscured the mountains.
